Here are Wyoming news items of interest for the week of August 11th, 2024:
Sunday, August 11th, Cowboy State Daily published this article about the amazing photos of Cheyenne-based photographer Peter Arnold. Using a GoPro camera Peter has captured some incredible images like the one below of burrowing owls. His technique has also netted terrific shots of many other raptors and a plethora of other wildlife. Read the entire story here and see more of Peter’s work on his Facebook page. Bravo!
Wednesday, August 14th saw some sad news with a fatal RV rollover crash on Teton Pass. According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP) brake failure is believed to be the cause. You can read about the incident in this Buckrail report.
On Friday, August 16th, the Star Valley Independent published this story which also fits nicely into the Yellowstone Invasion of the IdiotsTM category about a drunken Virginia man who stole a government-owned tow truck near Old Faithful and proceeded to go on a joy ride. Suffice it to say he didn’t get too far as he was soon detained by park rangers.
Lastly—as we were just on the topic of people doing stupid things, here’s a video clip of a dog doing a really dumb thing on Tuesday of this past week. In the category of pitbull versus bison, what do you think the outcome will be?
That’s all for today cowpokes! Thanks for reading, have a great week!
