Wow! It’s October! Here’s a brief summary of Star Valley Ranch happenings for the past week:
Monday, October 2nd at 1pm the Town of Star Valley Ranch (TSVR) Water Utility Board (WUB) met at Town Hall. You can find the agenda from this meeting here (minutes were not yet posted prior to publication of this week’s news email but should be forthcoming soon on the TSVR website). In the meantime, here are a couple of highlights from the meeting.
The WUB elected a new chairman who will take the helm as of 1 November 2023.
A TSVR Public Works employee participated in the WUB meeting and provided an overview of his role as a Water Operator and also updated the WUB on recent water system events.
Tuesday, October 3rd at 2pm the TSVR Natural Resources Board (NRB) met at Town Hall. An agenda and minutes have not yet been posted but should be forthcoming on the Town website. For now, here are a couple of items of interest from the meeting.
The annual Tree City Recertification for TSVR is in the works and will be submitted for the Mayor’s signature in the next couple of weeks.
The NRB Trail Crew is finishing up remaining projects for the 2023 season to include wildlife friendly fence modifications at the Cedar Creek Trailhead and replacement of broken poles at the Green Canyon Trailhead among other projects. The Trail Crew Lead will also be preparing the annual activity report for the U.S. Forest Service.
The Ranch Roundup is a little abbreviated this week as my husband and I have been hosting friends visiting from out of town. And, as I’m sure you can appreciate, we have been making the rounds at Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. While not “local news” I thought you might enjoy a few regional photos from the week (not high-caliber, but you get the idea).

Lastly, I wanted to share a couple more photos as they’re just too wonderful not to send your way.
Here’s one more splash of late fall color courtesy of the TSVR NRB Trail Crew taken from the Vista-Prater/Valley View Trail yesterday Saturday, October 7th.
And, how cute it this! Thanks to G. Oswald for sending us this beautiful image!
