Here’s what you may have missed this week at Star Valley Ranch:
Tuesday, October 17th at 6pm the Star Valley Ranch Association (SVRA) Board of Directors (BoD) held a workshop at Cedar Creek Center. This meeting was attended by a large group of residents (and non-residents)—I kid you not, it was standing room only. It seems that prior to the meeting information had been circulated indicating there would be changes made by the BoD to SVRA employee benefits. The citizens in attendance aimed to voice their concerns with regard to these purported changes. As it turned out, the BoD Chairman unequivocally stated no changes were being made to employee benefits. This statement was met with applause. There was also discussion during the meeting about proposed fee changes as well as changes in BoD committee assignments. [You can find a video recording of this meeting here. In addition, a new page has been added to the SVRA website that contains employee documents.]
Thursday, October 19th at 7pm the SVRA BoD conducted their monthly meeting at Cedar Creek Center. [Here are links to the agenda and also a video recording of the meeting.] The majority of the meeting was spent discussing the pending SVRA water project as well as the 2024 budget, with notes as follows:
The Golf Course Superintendent gave an update on the SVRA Green Canyon water project. This project aims to install new water line from near the Green Canyon Trailhead all the way down to Vista East Drive. The existing piping is 30 to 40 years old and of varying types and sizes. The latter causes continued maintenance issues. The project also intends to move a pressure release valve (PRV) pit closer to Vista East Drive from its current location higher up on Green Canyon Drive. The aim being to improve water pressure going up to Aspen Hills Golf Course hole #9. A scope of work is underway, and SVRA would like to coordinate work with the Town of Star Valley Ranch (TSVR) as the town will be executing its Water Improvement Project 2023 (WIP 2023) next summer in the same vicinity.
From the 2024 budget discussion, it appears homeowner annual assessments will go up across the board at a uniform rate of $11.81. You can review all of the draft 2024 SVRA budget documents here.
One other item of interest from this meeting, the SVRA announced the Wyoming Men’s Senior Golfers’ Association 66th Annual Tournament will be held at the Cedar Creek Golf Course next summer on July 29th and 30th, 2024.
Also on Thursday, October 19th the Star Valley Ranch Trail Crew completed what may be their final day of trail work for the season along the Murphy Creek / Prater-Murphy Trail. It was a chilly 28-degree morning for the crew but ended up being a spectacular fall day in the mountains. Check out these awesome photos!
A few other news notes you may find useful:
Looks like the speedbumps were removed about a week ago on Vista Drive and also on North Forest Drive in preparation for winter.
The town will also have to place additional advance warning markings on the roads before reinstalling the speedbumps next year in order to be fully compliant with the Uniform Act Regulating Traffic on Highways; the latter has been adopted in ordinance by the town.
The town resumed road grading this past week after completing a project on Cedar Drive.
The town will have a vacancy at the end of the month for its billing clerk position. Ads have been placed and the town is actively seeking a new hire.
On October 18th, the town published a public notice of acceptance and final settlement for WIP 2021. You can read the notice here [refer to page 20A].

Looks like it’ll be fairly quiet for Star Valley Ranch next week. Here are calendar items we know about:
Wednesday, October 25th at 5pm the TSVR Planning and Zoning Board will hold their second meeting of the month at Town Hall.
Saturday, October 28th the SVRA will host an array of Halloween festivities at Cedar Creek Center. Come on out for Trunk-or-Treat (from 6pm-7pm) followed by karaoke, a movie and games, and the Haunted Barn! See you there!
