After last week’s whirlwind of news, the past seven days have been much quieter at Star Valley Ranch. Here’s your roundup for the week of December 15th, 2024:
With no scheduled meetings for the week, the major news item I will report on is the continued progress being made on replacement of the Middle Branch Bridge. While we did receive a good 8 to 10 inches of snow overnight on Monday, only one day of project work was actually lost as crews spent the bulk of the day on Tuesday clearing snow out of the job site. By the end of the week most of the culvert pieces had been set in place and some backfill of dirt was also taking place. I put together a short photo/video compilation highlighting the work that has occurred over the past week—click below to check it out. And, I’ll continue to keep all of you updated!
Other news and notes for the week:
Here’s an update from last week’s SVR News Roundup post about the pending Master Plan amendment for the Mountain Estates subdivision on the east side of Muddy String Road (between Prater Canyon Road and Clark Lane). The subdivision, being developed by Bucket List, LLC, was on the December 17th meeting agenda of the Lincoln County Commissioners (LCC). While I was unable to attend this meeting, my understanding is the LCC did not approve the Mountain Estates Master Plan amendment and instead punted the project back to the Lincoln County Planning and Zoning Commission given there were some 14 conditions of approval that the developer still needs to deal with.
I’m sure this development project will be back in the coming months so I will be sure to provide further updates on Mountain Estates as they arise.
In the meantime, a big “Thank You” to the many Close to Home 307 readers who either reached out to the Town of Star Valley Ranch (TSVR) or to the LCC to voice your concerns about this subdivision and its potential impact on our community! You definitely effected the outcome!
The TSVR sent out an email reminder to residents earlier in the week noting that pet registrations for 2025 need to be completed soon! Please note registrations will be considered late after January 15th, 2025. You can apply online to register Fifi or Fido via the Town website or stop by Town Hall and they’ll be happy to assist you. Thanks!
Once again—no scheduled calendar items for next week. That said, a couple of closure notices to pass along as follows:
Town Hall will be closed in observance of the Christmas Day holiday on Wednesday, December 25th and Thursday, December 26th.
The Star Valley Ranch Association business office at Cedar Creek Center will also be closed on December 25th, Christmas Day.
Final thoughts—It was nice to have a quieter stretch after all the fireworks that occurred last week. Looking ahead at the upcoming Christmas week, I wish each of you blessings of peace and joy and also hope you’re able to share this special time of year with your family, friends, and loved ones. With no particular plans, I’ll be spending the holiday quietly here at home enjoying the wintry beauty and tranquility of our lovely little town. Talk to all of you next week!
