There wasn’t much going on at the Ranch during the week of September 29th, 2024; nonetheless, here’s a brief news rundown:
On Tuesday, October 1st at 6pm according to the public calendar on the Town website, the Town of Star Valley Ranch (TSVR) Roads Advisory Board (RAB) was scheduled to meet at Town Hall. It’s my understanding that meeting did not occur and I appreciate the resident who reached out to notify me.
I have since learned the RAB has rescheduled their meeting for later in the month. I’ll provide that rescheduled date as soon as I can confirm it.
Thursday, October 3rd a case of déjà vu occurred when the TSVR Finance Advisory Board (FAB) meeting advertised on the Town public calendar as happening at 3pm—didn’t.
I currently have no information about any rescheduled FAB meeting date but will pass along any update when it comes along.
Other news and notes from the week:
Our neighborhood Ranch black bear is still making the rounds in Town. Apparently, he (or she) has been actively checking out garbage cans. With this latest bad behavior, it’s my understanding the Wyoming Game and Fish Department (WGFD) has now set a couple of traps around town in order to catch Ranchy bear and relocate it before it gets itself into some real troubs.

The intersection near Town Hall at Vista Drive and Vista West Drive is planned for paving next week. The work was supposed to have already been completed, however, the contractor had equipment problems which caused a delay.
And, from a quiet first week of October, we dive into a busy second week. Here’s a look at calendar items:
Tuesday, October 8th has the following schedule of events:
Coffee with the Mayor, 9am at Town Hall
Town Council Work Session, 10am at Town Hall.
TSVR Municipal Court, 2pm, upstairs at Town Hall
Town Council Meeting, 7pm at Town Hall.
Wednesday, October 10th at 5pm the TSVR Planning and Zoning Board will meet at Town Hall.
Final thoughts—I’ve spent the last couple of days in Yellowstone National Park (YNP). What a glorious place! Late fall and winter are probably my favorite times to visit YNP. If you’ve never visited the world’s first national park during these times of the year, I highly recommend it! Here are a couple of photos for your enjoyment.
