Here’s a rundown of Town of Star Valley Ranch happenings during the Independence Day holiday week:
On Tuesday, July 4th the Star Valley Ranch Association held its 25th Annual Independence Day Celebration at Cedar Creek Park. The local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 4797 performed the flag raising at 7:30am followed by a review of past American and military flags as well as recognition of veterans in attendance. It was a beautiful and moving ceremony.

As of the writing of this post, the road closure on Cedar Drive in the Town of Star Valley Ranch is still in effect. Road closure signs and barricades weren’t enough to stop 4th of July visitors and revelers from riding ATVs, dirt bikes and side-by-sides through the barriers and across the damaged road surface on their way up to Prater Canyon. The closure signs and barriers have since been restored and the Town has now also staged heavy equipment on the north side of the damaged road area as they prepare to begin road repair and installation of a new culvert on Monday, July 10th.
Lastly, on Saturday, July 8th, the Town of Star Valley Ranch hosted its annual Safety Day at the First Response Center on Vista Drive across from Town Hall. Representatives from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Star Valley Emergency Management Services, Mid-Valley Fire District, Dry Creek Septic, U.S. Forest Service and others were all in attendance providing information and demonstrations to patrons. Shaved ice and donuts, as well as goodie-bags for kids were also provided. The event was well-attended.
