The first full week of September on the Ranch was fairly quiet. Here’s a summary of happenings:
Thursday, September 7th the Town of Star Valley Ranch (TSVR) conducted a bid opening for its Water Improvement Project 2023 (WIP 2023). Multiple qualified bids were received, and the Town engineer is currently verifying all bid information before any potential contract award is made.
Friday, September 8th the Star Valley Ranch Association (SVRA) announced (in their weekly email notice to members) that the new Frisbee Golf (or Disc Golf) course is now open. The Frisbee Golf course is located at the Aspen Hills Golf Course and weaves its way along fairway out-of-bound areas. The course consists of nine (9) custom-made baskets each sponsored by a local Star Valley business. You can access this new Frisbee Golf course from the Aspen Hills Golf Course parking area (at the intersection of Vista East Drive and Vista West Drive). Head toward the first tee.
Currently, there does not appear to be any signage installed for the SVRA Frisbee Golf course and as of the publication of this news email I was not able to obtain a course map. I’ll see what else I can find out and provide an update in a subsequent news email.

On Saturday, September 9th, the SVRA held their Autumn Craft Fair from 9am to 4pm at the Barn. While I couldn’t check out this event myself, I understand it was well-attended with patrons enjoying a variety of crafts, food vendors, kids’ activities, hourly drawings, and more.

A few additional news items for the week:
I had a couple of conversations with residents in recent days about the Town’s proposed new Travel & Tourism (T&T) Board (see last week’s news email post for more information on what led to the potential implementation of this new board). I would encourage folks to read the draft T&T Board ordinance at this link and please reach out to me if you have questions or concerns.
The T&T Board ordinance is scheduled for a first reading at next week’s regularly scheduled TSVR Council Meeting. You can review all ordinances scheduled for reading here and then click on the “Current Proposed Ordinance up for Reading” dropdown.
As I reported in last week’s news post, a water pump leak and water pump failure caused water pressure issues for some areas of the Ranch over the Labor Day weekend. As of Friday, September 8th, both affected pumps were repaired, and water services returned to normal with no further issues being reported.
Leisure Valley, Inc. (owner/operators of the Star Valley Ranch Resort RV Park on Muddy String Road) are working to fix a water line issue on Green Canyon Road. Water lines for the RV Park emanate from, and cross through, TSVR. As of this news post publication, a large hole remains on Green Canyon Road with no timeline for completion of the work.
Lots of calendar items for next week – here’s a summary:
Monday, September 11th at 1pm the TSVR Water Utility Board (WUB) will meet at Town Hall. See the agenda for this meeting here.
Tuesday, September 12th, “Coffee with the Mayor” will be held from 9am to 10am at Town Hall.
Also, Tuesday, September 12th, the Town Council will hold a work session at 2pm following later in the day by the regularly scheduled TSVR Council meeting at 7pm. Both meetings will be at Town Hall and you can see the agendas here.
Wednesday, September 13th at 5pm the TSVR Planning and Zoning (P&Z) Board will meet at Town Hall. (No agenda has been posted yet.)
Thursday, September 14th at 1pm a pre-bid/pre-proposal meeting for the TSVR Snow Removal Request for Proposal (RFP) will be held at Town Hall. [See the most recent Public Notice for this RFP here (refer to page 21A). Proposals are due to the Town Clerk by 12 noon on September 29th.]
