It was a busy week at Star Valley Ranch from July 9th through the 15th; here’s a summary:
On Monday, July 10th the Town of Star Valley Ranch (TSVR) Water Board held its monthly meeting at 1pm. Also on Monday, the TSVR Finance Board held their quarterly meeting at 5pm. Unfortunately, no agendas for either meeting have been posted to the Town website so I cannot pass along discussion topics. Residents are, however, welcome to attend any Town board meeting and upcoming dates can be found on the TSVR website calendar at this link.
Tuesday, July 11th was a busy day at Town Hall. Coffee with the Mayor got things started at 9am followed by a Town Council work session from 2pm to 4pm. During the work session the Council briefly discussed a financial pre-audit scheduled to occur at the end of the month. (This is the start of the Town’s annual audit process.) Also during the work session the Council discussed the need for improvements to the Town’s infrastructure planning process as well as looking ahead to be better prepared once winter snow-plowing season arrives. At 7pm, the regular Town Council meeting was held. A highlight from this meeting was the first reading of Ordinance 2023-08 to create a Roads Advisory Board for the Town. Wednesday, July 12th, the TSVR Planning & Zoning Board held their first meeting of the month. Permit review items included a driveway, a fence, and an accessory building. The agenda and draft minutes from this meeting are available on the Town website by clicking here.
Thursday, July 13th was TSVR’s annual War on Weeds event. Good turn-out was reported with lots of weed mitigation products purchased by residents from Lincoln County Weed & Pest.

On Saturday, July 15th, TSVR hosted its first Farmers Market from 8am to 11am across from Town Hall next to the First Response Center. Eleven vendors participated offering fresh products such as baked goods, local beef, coffees, honey, kettle-corn and more. Health, home and wellness products were also available. Turn-out by residents was phenomenal and some vendors even sold-out of all the products they had available. Unfortunately, this inaugural TSVR Farmers Market did not have fresh produce for sale. However, Town Council market organizers are actively working to add vegetables and fruits to future market dates along with an ever-increasing array of local offerings. The Farmers Market will continue every Saturday until Labor Day with the exception of Saturday, August 19th when there will not be a market due to a previously scheduled event.

A few additional notes for this week:
Also in July, as required by Wyoming Statute 15-1-110, the Town of Star Valley Ranch posted its revised wage listings for all elected officials and staff. You can review this document on the Town website by clicking here.
Finally, work got underway this week to repair damage to Cedar Drive caused by spring run-off. Public Works crews will continue working on the road most likely through the end of the month and as of this posting, Cedar Drive remains closed.
Last but not least, here are Star Valley Ranch events on next week’s calendar to keep you in the know:
Monday, July 17th, Firewise pick-up begins in TSVR and continues through Thursday, July 20th.
Tuesday, July 18th, the Star Valley Ranch Association (SVRA) will hold a board workshop starting at 6pm at Cedar Creek Center.
Wednesday, July 19th, the Mid-Valley Fire District will conduct a “Push-In” ceremony at 7:30pm for their new fire engine at the TSVR First Response Center.
Thursday, July 20th, 2pm, the TSVR Natural Resource Board (NRB) will meet at Town Hall.
Thursday, July 20th, the SVRA will conduct their monthly board meeting starting at 7pm at Cedar Creek Center.
Saturday, July 22nd, 8am to 11am, the second TSVR Farmers Market will be held next to the First Response Center on Vista Drive.
Great reporting—keep up the awesome job!
